Tuesday Toffee #10: homecoming

Homecoming is returning to the source of one’s being. Entering the path which can be walked by only you, and no one else can show you where it lays.

Homecoming is accepting what has always been present during those long years of yearning and searching and longing to find the place where you belong, a timeless tribal encounter with your inner face mirrored by others, exploring fears and dancing tears away.

It’s that soft touch of the bones with which they lay embedded in the depth of the muscles wired by the web of quickly running veins. Or the feeling of the weight of the body supported and upheld by the air, the sparking neurones of long-stored, un-wordy memories treasured in the realm of fleshy wisdom, in the bones, in the cells, in a breath and in a heartbeat.

Homecoming is reconnection with your innermost wisdom beyond the tremors of the world.

A sudden letting go of all those other roads you are not going to walk, because the door is closed. Surrender. A moment when your personal will is matched with the will of the unknown, with the Universe, with God. And a desire to stay in that very moment of enlightenment where the only walkable path is lit,  and a previously invisible door opens through the meadow of ghostly, monstrous fear-shadows. You must follow that path. And finally, after long months and years of denial and struggles you say yes to step forward,  and follow it with all your heart. Even if there’s failure what awaits you at the other end. There is no way back.

Then your heart starts to sing that everlasting shamanic song of your soul, the one song which can lead you through those slavering, gate-guardian beasts of fear. Stepping on the one road, you find strength. You find support. And beyond all noise and silence you find the beat of your own heart, the beat that moves your feet, that dances you through your life with the taste of your homecoming, your arrival from your eons-long pilgrimage.

Keep sailing, warrior, you’re almost there! Homecoming is already dancing your bones.
